Greetings from Guitarland. This years Christmas page was very sucessfull peaking out at 8000 listens per day!(www.myspace.com/christmasrick)I'm happy to anounce the release of a new DVD titled "Solidbodies-The 50 year war". Guitarfreak music is all over it and I also have a short video clip in the movie as well. It's a fun documentary to watch with Gary Hoey, Johnny A, Joe Bonnamassa, and others contributing their opinions about Fender and Gibson guitars, and their mystique. Rock On!

This week in Guitarfreak Land:
Dava guitar pick company has requested a track from my Angels Highway project to be used for a CD release of their favorite tracks by endorsees. I'm thrilled to be included among these rippin' guitarists. Which track will be used? We'll have to wait and see...
I was also contacted this week regarding licensing of my Christmas music for a holiday cd by a major retailer for the Christmas 2007 season. Stay tuned for details....

Whats up everyone? I've been busy doing gigs with other bands and various recording sessions. Last week I blew the dust off my nylon string acoustic and did a couple latin jazz sessions. That was fun and got me hungry to play more spanish guitar. I will be returning to Dallas Texas in mid July do play some shows and do some recording there. Check my "On stage" page for show dates. New music licensing website Moviecues.com has added Rick Brannon as a featured artist and posted 3 tracks Angels Highway, Let Love Begin, and Wonderworld for licensing and usage.I now am selling individual song downloads at www.myspace.com/guitarfreakrick

Greetings Guitar Freaks! Dallas was great as usuall. It's always fun to play there. I also cut 2 new songs for my next instrumental CD. One is titled "Cactus Canyon" and is in the style of 70's hard blues/rock band Cactus with a little tip of the hat to Jeff Beck. The other tune is tenatively titled "Kool Funk" and sounds as if Stevie Ray jammed with Kool and the Gang! I still need to record the final guitars on both of these new tracks which I will do asap....The show at BB Kings with Shawn Michael Perry and "Only the Brave" went well. We re- recorded a song from his CD titled "The Indian" at John Avila's studio in San Bernadino. (John was the bassist for rock group Oingo Boingo and was the producer for Shawns cd). Shawn wasn't quite happy with the original version, so we re-cut it. He's also making some artwork modifications as he prepares this fine new product for worldwide distribution. Greetings guitarfreaks! What a busy year it's been. I've not even had a chance to keep in touch with all of you. I recorded a new CD with Austin Texas singer/songwriter Calvin Russell to be released on SPV records in Germany. It will be marketed primarily in Europe, where he frequently plays to large audiences.... I've wrapped up a project with solo artist Billy Senesac which is basicly a twisted rap/metal amalgamation and should be out by years end on his own label. I've also been doing a live shows with Comedy team Jimmy and Joey in Burbank. It's basicly a "Tonight Show" type gig, and features some of the funniest comics in the L.A. area..... After 2 trips to Wyoming to play shows with my favorite vocalist Shawn Michael Perry, he has relocated to Los Angeles to promote his great new Cd "Only the Brave". We put together a terrifyingly smokin' band in the last few weeks to do some showcases here in L.A.The band is Shawn and myself with bassist Les July and drummer Dave Goodstein. The sparks are really flying and we can't wait to do our first gig at BB Kings in Hollywood on Nov. 17th. Needless to say, work on my 5th release has been postponed as I delve into this great new project, though I do promise to send out my annual Christmas CD this year. To request one for yourself, just drop me a line and I'll add you to the list. This week we fly to Texas to play my instrumental music in the Dallas area. I'll record rhythym tracks for a couple more tunes for my 5th cd release while I'm there....Keep spankin' the plank!! Gfreak Rick Brannon

Greetings from guitarfreak land! Guitarfreak has been busy working on his 5th CD release. Three years in the making, this CD will be the best so far. It will have celebrity guest players and some new sounds you have not heard before from the "freak". This cd is expected to be a full legnth release instead of the usuall "ep" model. Gfreak has also been doing session work in the Los Angeles area. Everything from psycadelic punk and spiritual blues rock, to rap metal and beyond! Coming up at the end of May, Gfreak will be traveling north to Wyoming to play a concert with one of his favorite vocalists, Sean Michael Perry. This native American musician has a great new melodic hard rock cd out titled "Run 2 U". The band will perform the entire new CD as well as selected songs from "Guitar Freak 3". The concert will be held at the Robert Peck performing Arts Center in Riverton Wyoming. Meanwhile, new t-shirts and other merchandise adorn the merchandise section of guitarfreak.com. Check it out and "keep spankin' the plank"!!!!
